Hi I’m Melissa! I was born and raised in sunny south Florida. I live in Houston, Texas with my amazing husband, our dogs Bear & Boomer, and our cat Safin. I love country music, good barbecue, and I own real cowgirl boots (no wonder I married a Texan). Writing is like therapy for my soul. I grew up writing in journals and I may have been the only person to do their college applications on a type-writer (when computers existed). I don’t feel organized unless I make a list (sometimes my lists have lists). My mom was the greatest woman I’ve ever known and she fought cancer with a positive attitude and the grace of a champion. She will always be my biggest inspiration to continue to be a better person every day.

You came highly recommended from our mutual friend Desiree Oftedal. I found your portfolio on Floridian Weddings, and your style is really beautiful! You seem to have a great knack for making everything look gorgeous and, most important to us, capturing genuine emotions too.
I’m a fellow photographer, based out in Portland, OR. My husband and I have been shooting together specializing in destination wedding photography. We started our business in Orlando actually, but moved out West 6 years ago. When we started our family, things began to change. Now that I’m pregnant with our second baby, we’ve been finding other talented photographers for my husband Matthew to shoot alongside.
Are you interested in being a second shooter? Is this something you’ve done before? Another photographer friend in Portland and I joke that we would second shoot full time if we could! There’s something to be said for just showing up, shooting, and not dealing with contracts, logistics, or even editing!
